My baby nine is due in about 49 days so I thought you might like a little update on how my pregnancy is going.
I passed my early glucose screen with flying colors and I was excited that maybe I wouldn’t have any issues. No such luck! I failed my 1 hour sugar test by one little point and instead of taking the 3 hour test I opted to just start checking my blood sugar on a regular basis. What I discovered is that processed sugar is not my friend. My younger brother has been a Type 1 diabetic for over 20 years and I do not know how he does it, except for the fact that it’s do or die. I am already tired of poking myself 4 times a day to test my blood sugar and I have only been doing it for a month. Being diabetic is not a walk in the park at all and watching what you eat to keep your sugar in check is a lot of work! Don’t take your pancreas or eating what you want for granted!
I had carpal tunnel with my last three pregnancies. This time has been different! I had some issues earlier but my carpal tunnel has actually gotten better over time. It’s a good thing because I have a lot of baby blanket crocheting that I still need to get done!
Heartburn is always an issue for me during pregnancy and it has been extra rough this time around. I am on a prescription that I take twice a day and sometimes when the baby is super active I still have heartburn. It’s the pits.
I have never weighed this much in my life or during any of my other 8 pregnancies. The aches and pains are starting, but I am truly blessed that up until this point I haven’t felt too bad! I’ve been able to do all the things that I want to do. I had to take off my wedding ring this time around but I still have the permanent indentation of my ring on my finger from 17 years of marriage!
I had a recent ultrasound to check the position of the placenta and our little mister looks to be healthy and well and thankfully the placenta is not low-lying any more! Hooray!
With Thanksgiving next week and Christmas following close behind I know the next 49 days is just going to fly and I’m going to try my best to take one day at a time! After all I know that babies are easier to take care of on the inside!
